Mark D. Mayberry, CPA, CITP, CISA, CIDA is a recognized thought leader and educator in the fields of assurance, audit technology, audit innovation, and IT-related risk management.

​

Mark serves as an audit transformation advisor for local & regional firms, and internal audit departments. He helps with development of innovation roadmaps, risk assessments, internal controls evaluation, development of IT-related advisory services, streamlining of audit department operations, and increasing staff proficiency with IT tools supporting assurance services delivery.

 

When Mark was with BDO he also led the team that built BDO’s international audit management software and audit analytics platform. Now with ITK, he utilizes his deep knowledge of audit and technology to help audit teams levearge emerging technologies, facilitate digital audit transformation, manage their overall IT-related and privacy risks, and reduce their risk of fraud too.

 

Mark has been highly involved in several AICPA initiatives including development of the AICPA’s Audit Data Standard, revamping of the Certified IT Professional (CITP) credential and exam, and the authoring of guidance published by the AICPA on IT Considerations for Risk-Based Auditing.

 

Mark is also a speaker and educator on innovation strategies, business intelligence, data analytics, assurance technologies, IT risk assessment and other emerging technologies around the US and internationally. He is also an author and interviewee as a subject matter expert.
